But that is where the betrayal comes in. When Floki strongly suspects Athelstan's loyalty to be on his side, Ragnar thinks that he will bring his people to Weesex because of its wealth. A church in Weesex is attacked by Ragnar and his men. Also, they seize their goods by killing them. Ragnar then meets King Ecbert and asks him why he still stays in Weesex. The king reveals his plans to Ragnar, offering him land in return for his help in a battle. One of King Horik's warriors announces that Kattegat is taken by force by Jarl Borg.

But Ragnar refuses to hit Jarl Borg because the latter has settled in Kattegat. He will then force him to leave by giving him a plan. He chooses to enter the village at night with his son to demolish their grain stocks.

    Part 2: episode 6-10

    A RATHER HESITANT ALLIANCE

To repair the offenses made to King Ecbert, King Horik offers Ragnar an opportunity to form a new union with Jarl Borg. Rollo takes it upon himself to persuade him to accept this proposal. Convinced by King Horik, Ragnar tried to find a new agreement to take Jarl Borg's place. Ragnar did not kill Jarl Borg until a new ally was established. When Helga becomes pregnant, she chooses to marry Floki. But he does not want to be blessed by Jarl Ragnar. On the other hand, Aslaug gives birth to a child with a deformed foot bone. Ragnar wants to kill the child, because the Viking society has no interest in it. But Aslaug decides to keep him and then names him Ivar the boneless.

While Rollo has a serious wound, King Ecbert asks to heal him. He takes the time to read ancient Roman texts and finds a strategy of Caesar to persuade the Vikings to battle. King Horik finally finds an alliance with Ragnar. He plans to get a proof of dignity from Floki by asking him to end the lives of the people, who are none other than Ragnar, Lagerha, Aslaug and his children.
