Ragnar tries to find a new ally to succeed Jarl Borg. In Wessex, King Ecbert decides to ally with King Aelle of Northumbria to counter the attacks of the Vikings , but also to take the kingdom of Mercia. To confirm this pact, Aelle's daughter is given in marriage to Aethelwulf, Ecbert's son. Jarl Borg shares with King Horik his presentiment of Ragnar's ambitions and warns him. Jarl Borg is convinced that Horik will help him escape and that he will kill Ragnar. Meanwhile, Ragnar teaches his son the definition of the Blood Eagle Celebration . Earl Borg is unleashed in the middle of the night. He thinks he is completely free, when unfortunately he was released to be taken to the celebration. Ragnar, dressed in white, performs the celebration himself, bringing about the death of Jarl Borg. He is satisfied enough with the revenge he wanted.
