Between Ragnar and Horik, the disagreement is tangible. In the Viking Circle, despite Ragnar advising King Horik, he still desires to fight quickly. Horik gets angry at Ragnar's behavior and chooses to attack immediately the next day. Thanks to King Aelle, Ecbert ended up defeating the Vikings using the method once used by Julius Caesar. Assaulted on different fronts, watching the slaughter and observing the height of the English, Ragnar orders his bands to withdraw. After winning, King Aelle wants to face off a second time to knock out the Vikings , but King Ecbert wants to make a deal with Ragnar and his associates to dispose of their duties as a soldier and help him command Mercia. This battle between the rulers worries Athelstan, still harassed by his old oath and his friendship for Ragnar.
