Ragnar's gang slaughters the people and churches of Wessex. Ragnar takes control of Wessex and takes his people to settle there. For he finds that his lands are full of wealth. However, Floki doesn't trust Æthelstan yet. King Ecbert cannot get rid of them, and he sends emissaries to ask Ragnar what he wants to leave Wessex. Meanwhile, Jarl Borg seizes the opportunity to attack Rollo and the Vikings left behind in Kattegat in revenge against Ragnar. Rollo tries to fight him, but he fails.
