Ivar chooses a female soldier for his sacrifice. However, her relationship with Hvitserk increasingly turns into a problematic one. Hvitserk talks to the Seer who shows a scary future. Thorunn comes to Iceland to visit Floki and finds out about his brother's murder. Floki banishes Eyvind and his family from the colony. In England, Ubbe prepares Alfred for Harald's raid. Magnus offers Bjorn, Lagertha and Ubbe to join Harald. Lagertha and Ubbe are unconvinced that Magnus is Ragnar's son. As Harald's soldiers advance towards Wessex, Harald has fallen in love with Olavsonn's wife, Gunnhild. The noble conspirators ordered Aethelred to assassinate Alfred, Aethelred fails to do the deed. Ivar consults the clairvoyant who announces a frightening future. But Ivar refuses fate and murders the seer.
