Torvi and Ubbe approve of Alfred's wish that they become Christians. Magnus approaches Bjorn to take advantage, he seeks revenge on Alfred. Aethelred and Alfred argue over whether Heahmund should be punished for Cuthred's murder. Alfred decides to spare Heahmund and leave the judgment to god. Heahmund informs that Aethelred is up to something against Alfred. Harald decides to get out of Kattegat for York, in order to prepare a descent on Wessex. He tries to manipulate the governor of Ivar, Olavsonn, for his plan to leave Kattegat. Floki manages to bring the discordant family together by an expected child of Helgi and Thorunn. But then, Thorunn disappears. In Kattegat, Hvitserk is angry over Margrethe's death. Ivar proclaims he is a god and announces to make a huge sacrifice.
