Siggy is the daughter of Bjorn and Porunn, the latter of whom rejected him after he was born and disappeared without a trace. She became the wife of Jarl Haraldson and gave birth to a daughter named Thyri. During her husband's reign, Siggy displayed wisdom and loyalty, effectively fulfilling her duties as the wife of the Jarl and who enjoyed her status and reputation. Nevertheless, the decisions her husband Haraldson makes about Thyri displease them and even end up affecting her resentment towards her and her future actions.

Siggy ends up cheating on her husband with several lovers, with Erlendur, with King Horik and with Rollo who becomes her companion after Haraldson's death. She suffered successive tragedies, the death of her two unknown sons, the loss of her status and finally the death of her husband. After Haraldson's death, Siggy becomes Rollo's companion.
Siggy, the wife of Jarl Haraldson is first of all a loyal and faithful survivor, but unfortunately, her loyalty evolves according to events and circumstances. She is also a good mother for both Thyri and her two sons, she is responsible and she loves her children tenderly. But because of her husband and these decisions, she changed and she became selfish.

Manipulative and a liar, Siggy manipulates people with lies in order to gain advantages. However, this does not prevent the sincerity of her affections and her devotion to the people she loves. Wise and calculating, Siggy detected evil in a stranger who had recently arrived in town and she was the only one. Siggy sacrificed her life to stop the evildoer and save Ubbe and Hvitserk, Ragnar's two children.

Siggy makes her first appearance in the episode "Heading West" and makes her last appearance in the episode "In Sorrow". This character played by actress Jessalyn Gilsig shows up in 24 episodes of the series. Siggy is a recurring character in Season 1, Season 2 and Season 3 of this historical series. After playing seduction and manipulation on the show, Siggy dies saving the two elders of Ragnar and Aslaug from drowning. In the third season, she actively supports Aslaug and helps him raise his sons, which prompted him to save them.
