Accompanied by Ivar and Hvitserk, his new allies, Harald embarks for England where they expect to launch a major offensive in England against King Alfred. He appoints Erik co-regent, alongside Ingrid, without failing to remind him that this is only a provisional government and that he will remain the true sovereign of Kattegat.
News of the arrival of 200 Viking ships having reached King Alfred , he abandoned his palace for a garrison town that was easier to defend.
